really different from the neighborhood. The eldest inhabitants of the

the village of Cap Malheureux very popular is its much-photogaphed church, the
red-roofed Notre Dame Auxiliatrice. It’s worth a quick peek inside for its
intricate woodwork and a holy-water basin fashioned out of a giant clamshell.

Museum is a fantastic exposition in the old sugar factory of Beau Plan,
regrouping almost 4 centuries of history. In the Village Boutique find

Black River Gorges
The Black
River Gorges National Park is home to an amazing collection of indigenous
plants and birds. The best time to visit the Gorges is during the flowering
season between September and January.

Gris Gris Beach
Gris-Gris is
well known for its sea cliff. This part of the island is not surrounded by
coral reefs. The most spectacular part of Gris-gris is the "Roche Qui
Pleure" where the constant squashing of waves against the flanks of the
cliff gives the impression that the cliff is crying.
Le Chateau de Bel Ombre
At the heart
of the Domaine de Bel Ombre, Le Château, magnificently restored as a
restaurant, provides a venue resplendent with colonial grandeur, reminiscent of
Mauritian gone by days. A venue which lends itself to luncheons, dinners or
special events.
Pointe d'Esny and Mahebourg
Mahebourg,
on the southeast coast of Mauritius, has a proud history. It is here that the
first colonisers set foot on the island several centuries ago and it is the
perfect representation of a typical Mauritian village. Its fauna and flora are
well represented in I’le aux Aigrettes bird sanctuary. Fishermen come here
every day with their catch. Shops and street peddlers have all sorts of spices
and delicacies. Monday is market day, when you can find a great variety of
local crafts and textiles.
Rochester Falls

emits a certain serenity that tempts one to have a break and to relax.
Riambel and Pomponette
Riambel is
located in the South of Mauritius. The village has preserved its authentic
charm and offers tranquility and seclusion. It lies at a drive of about 30
minutes from the airport.
